“The joy of learning is as essential to intelligence
than breathing to a runner.”

THE SCHOOL’S MISSION & VALUES

Learning with joy, curiosity and high standards

Drawing on the Montessori method and the latest findings in neuroscience, we strive to fully develop each child’s cognitive, social and emotional capacities.

Our ambition is to support pupils as they build autonomous, structured and rigorous thinking, enabling them to acquire solid knowledge, develop intellectual curiosity and understand the world around them.

In a prepared and stimulating environment, children learn to reason, explore, cooperate and persevere, while developing the confidence they need to express their ideas and shape their own learning journey.

We believe that every child possesses a unique potential that deserves to be cultivated. Education enables not only individual flourishing, but also the social, cultural and economic development of society. It is a fundamental right and a collective responsibility.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Children grow and learn in a carefully prepared Montessori environment, designed to support their intellectual development, autonomy and self-confidence.

Each space fosters concentration, curiosity and a love of effort. Through the Montessori didactic materials, pupils handle, experiment and gain a deep understanding of concepts, progressing from the concrete to the abstract.

This structured and demanding environment cultivates the joy of learning, intellectual rigour and the pursuit of excellence.

THE FOUR PILLARS OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

Academic excellence

We foster solid, structured learning that enables children to build their reasoning, intellectual curiosity and analytical skills.

International outlook

The school welcomes families from many nationalities and offers a bilingual French–English environment that nurtures cultural openness and a deeper understanding of the world.

Montessori pedagogy

Founded on the scientific observation of the child, the Montessori method allows for individualised progression, encourages autonomy and develops intellectual curiosity.

Inclusion

The school welcomes children with a wide range of profiles within a structured and caring framework, allowing each one to fully develop their potential.

THE TEAM

The École Montessori Internationale de Nice was founded in 2021 by Nadia Hamidi and Gérald Maradan, with the ambition of providing a demanding, international education that deeply respects the development of the child.

Nadia Hamidi, Head of School and founder, has more than 25 years’ experience teaching children aged 3 to 12. A graduate of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), she is recognised for her expertise in the Montessori method and for her work with children of varied learning profiles, including neurodivergent children and intellectually gifted children (HPI).

The teaching team is composed of qualified educators trained in the Montessori method and committed to ongoing professional development.

Gérald Maradan, co-founder of the school, is a physicist by training and a graduate of HEC Paris and Harvard University; he contributes to the development and structuring of the educational project.

The school also benefits from the support of an educational psychology team made up of specialist professionals, who assist the teaching staff and families whenever necessary.

BILINGUALISM

Our teachers are English speaking

Whether your child already practices English at home or not, he will benefit from an optimal pedagogical framework at school to reinforce his knowledge or stimulate the learning of his first foreign language.

MANIPULATE TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND

The child is not a vase that we fill but a source that we let spring.

MONTESSORI METHOD OF EDUCATION

Maria Montessori is one of the first female doctors of her time. A graduate in natural sciences, philosophy and psychology, she is a remarkable figure of the 20th century. In contact with the children of San Lorenzo, she draws on her observations to develop educational precepts that are so avant-garde that they are still relevant today.

THE METHOD OF WHICH IT HAS ORIGINED IN ITALY DEVELOPS THE PRINCIPLES OF:
FREEDOM

To learn to make choices
by the exercise of our will.

RESPECT

Learn self-respect,
of others, of all that
surrounds us.

SOLIDARITY

Benevolence of some towards
others, concept of cooperation and
of interdependence.

IT IS BASED ON 3 KEY POINTS:
THE IMPORTANCE OF
THE ENVIRONMENT

The material is attractive
and perfected. It arouses interest and
appropriation of concepts
through sensory education.

THE IMAGE OF THE TEACHER

The educator is the guarantor
of this environment.
It presents itself to every child in
a state of “humility” suitable for facilitating
the outbreak of personality
thereof.

CONSIDERATION
OF INDIVIDUALITY

Each and every one of us
is a unique, responsible being
of his personal choices.

ACT

The International Montessori School of Nice partners with the PSE association to support children in Cambodia and give them a brighter future through education.

Across the world, too many children grow up in extreme poverty and suffer from injustice. We have a duty to help them That’s why, this year, the school has decided to develop a partnership with the association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE), allowing us collecting funds for the association. Additionally, please find attached an order form featuring other products crafted by PSE volunteers.

For nearly 30 years, PSE has been working in Cambodia to lift children out of extreme poverty and provide them with a brighter future through education and vocational training. To learn more about PSE’s activities, please visit their official website: www.pse.ngo
